Daydreaming For a Time Machine
Don't you wish time travel was real? God knows I do. The number one question that usually comes up is what would you be? That's very clique in my opinion. Shit, I don't know about anyone else but I want to be surprised. Would I be standing in the middle of Malcolm X and MLK? Would I be taking notes from writers such as James Baldwin and Norman Mailer? Sadly I don't know and I'll most likely will never know.
To keep it 100 I'm a misfit (proudly representing) in this current day and age. Every herd has on sheep that loves to stray away from the pack. Being a black sheep is never something to be ashamed of. Some of our most prominent figures in history were considered black sheep. Even the forming of most countries were started by those who some people today may label "black sheep's."
The ability of looking back through time and facing the reality of current circumstances makes me pissed. Imagine if we were able to write like Mailer or Baldwin and use it for "our" greater advancement. Only if the artist of today would just take notes from greats like Marely, Prince, and MJ than just maybe I'll give MTV a try. Watching a basketball game nowadays is like watching NASCAR. Let's slow it down again. You see back in the days ballers such as Kareem, Magic, Wilt, and even Jordan would put these youngsters to shame.
Do I sound angry? I hope not (I'm only being sarcastic). As we all know there's tons of downs to time travel, but I'm also here to tell you that there's ups. For instance, with the ability of looking to our past we should find the will power to create tools to fix/or rebuild the present, and at the same time changing the present in order to prepare for the future at hand. Surprisingly our politics along with it's major players haven't change, but it's effect on it's people has. Who cares about the democrats? Who care about the republicans? Nobody should in my opinion. Thanks to people like Bernie Sanders the Independent Party is the fastest growing alternative party in the history of this country.
We as the lower-class should not be turning to City Hall or our public officials to fix our conditions. When we were born God gave us all a gift and with that gift we should be able and willing to find different ways of helping ourselves and others.
Ahh, thank God for the ability of imagination. By doing this common mental activity I'm showing is a form of resistance. In today's world an everyday Joe like myself can just sit and imagine the unthinkable. Unfortunately, if this was 1960 and I imagined something unthinkable such as blacks and whites coming together I would've been beat to near death.
Oh look at the time. Playtime is over. The clock is striking nine.-Circa 2017
